The seventh edition of the Digital Health Hackathon, organized by the Harvard Health Systems Innovation Lab (HSIL), will take place from Friday, April 10, to Saturday, April 11, under the theme “Building high-value health systems: leveraging Artificial Intelligence.” The event will be held simultaneously in 41 countries and will bring together professionals from various disciplines to design innovative solutions for the sector's main challenges. This year, Medifé and Sanatorio Finochietto will host the HSIL-organized hackathon, the innovation unit of the Harvard School of Public Health, to continue building a sustainable, technological, and integrated health ecosystem. They will coordinate one of the venues in Buenos Aires, where participants and mentors will work together to rethink the health system from a digital perspective. This interdisciplinary and free-to-join event will feature professionals, students, and entrepreneurs with expertise in medicine, technology, data management, and business development. The goal is to address real-world problems in the healthcare system and propose solutions that involve the creative use of artificial intelligence. The hackathon is part of both institutions' commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in the healthcare system, with a focus on incorporating new technologies into care models, as reported by the Noticias Argentinas agency. In this regard, Aníbal Troisi, CEO of Medifé and Sanatorio Finochietto, stated: “The health system has the opportunity to implement high-impact technologies to enhance care and quality of service. The 2026 Hackathon is a concrete instance to connect talent and explore innovative ideas collaboratively.” For his part, Andrés Anania -director of the Hackathon in Argentina and a member of the specialized robotic surgery team at Sanatorio Finochietto- detailed: “The Hackathon is not only a space for the co-creation of innovative solutions in health; it is a gateway to the Harvard ecosystem and a unique opportunity to position Argentine startups on the radar of international investors.”
